What Is The Problem. Micro Business Can't Grow And Are Not Sustainable.

Some years ago, I was very determined to leave school life and start doing casual jobs. I remember how I could tell my mother I want to stop going to school, go to Nairobi City and start roasting maize. The reason I could give was that I just needed money and avoid the hustles I could see coming from many issues like school fees, walking long distance and others.

During those suicidal imaginations I ended up buying two hens and became starter poultry farmer. At one season, I had One Hundred (100) birds selling eggs and chicks in the village. The mindset of business making never left me again.

The possibilities of business making became real. Many micro businesses have very rich history and which have kept them running todate many years later since they were started in which ever way. I meet and here people say that they have been there for 15, 20, 25 years and then complaint and say how life have become bad and government made things painful. Regardless, during same period some other businesses have been started and thrived beyond.

Growing Your Micro Enterprise

So why and what makes micro enterprises not to grow. Can they grow ?.This is the main question. This is the main problem statement.

The way these businesses are run will never help them to grow. They will never be sustainable. Regardless of rich history, strong determination of the founders there is still huge problem. Mainly the founders of these businesses want to run them under their terms but not as per logical artistic way of building and scaling a business.

Mindset Change

Growing and sustaining your micro enterprise start with how your mind is set as the leader. You must be alive to fact that if you cannot hold and build pillars to support running and growing your business it will be very hard to sustain it.

Mindset change is very important. It is very critical to start asking yourself what brought you to business. If you desire to be an enterpreneur, there will be need for continous overhaul of your mindset so that your believe system can adopt that of enterpreneuship and how to make decisions of a businesses.

From waking up in the morning, to the processes you have in serving your customer, how you manage the money of the business, all these cannot be left to your personal convenience but will need you start process of acquiring information to help you learn and get right perspective.

Consider this; businesses with very good daily cash flows, but few years later they are no where. They are dead. Businesses should not be explained in terms of cash they make daily because that is just very small aspect of defining their success.

Create your own accountability matrix or action plan and start ticking one by one and create strategy of how to build them including seeking opportunities to train yourself. Become business expert one step at a time. Avoid road side business decision making .That is what is meant by true business making. That will definitely unlock potential of your business, growth and sustainability.
