When I left my corporate career and came out to start entrepreneurship, I was very sure that this would be plug and play kind of transition. Nurturing that thought for like Three years, reading about businesses was all fun in my mind.

Passion was overpowering until it delivered me outside corridors of corporate offices where at one time I was given annual award as the best employee of the year.

On the business ground , there were so many variations that I had never met and all proved overpowering until I lost all the savings I had and was left with only my clothes and brain to think more and further.

Do I look for another employment. And that says it all –that even my thinking couldn’t connect at all.

And now, I know better that only a third of people can run a successful micro business.

The rest can only enjoy fantastic and predictable life of employment and of course with no true freedom.

I know prospect of being your own boss is a dream for many and many currently in employment. This has inspired many to think of starting side hustle inform of business hoping it will transition them to freedom.

It is high time to really evaluate what you want to become- successful employee or successful entrepreneur.

Successful employment has got nothing wrong. Depends on level of freedom you desire – you can still have fantastic life. You will not be plotted to the ups and downs of entrepreneurship, the unpredictable challenge of it, how hard it is. Only that you will never be free. That brings it up to big debate. Do you really want personal freedom? Entrepreneurship is the only way !!

Building a business is about forgetting corporate convenience to working from garages and basements, facing competitors with no other power other than faith and facing long lonely path where no one else seems to understand you.

Pursuit for entrepreneurship is not for money- it’s for freedom

It will not be easy to replicate other successful business.

Actually successful business almost prevail without competition. Their main competitor is their vision.

Because it is not easy for anyone to replicate what they have built.

That too explains why biggest number of successful graduates will only end in working for massive corporations and build their career in corporate offices.

Two thirds of graduates want to grow as consultants without learning how to try their ability to make decisions in running business – some sort of life of mediocrity.

O’ Leary – world billionaire-once said such people become good consultants but will never achieve greatness in any way.

O’Leary continues to say- there is a lot of money in entrepreneurship – he has net worth of over USD 400 million- But building businesses is not about getting rich quicker. You will have to sacrifice a dime. But independence that comes with it makes it worthwhile.

He said – it is not about pursuit of money. It is not pursuit of greed. You will fail if you do that. But requires undying love for true freedom.

This one trait everyone else has ignored. Only those willing to succeed in building business

The story about only 1% of world population manages to control their life destiny is not a hoax.

One third of micro business founders who go on to become entrepreneurs have one key quality that remain intact.

They can tune out the noise of their personal lives to get 3-5 most important things done in a day.

This is ability to maintain lowest ratio of noise to signal. You can as well term it as 20/80 ratio.

In some instances it has been said that there were some extra ordinary people who were able to have this ratio at 100% - Ideally able to operate at noticing and picking right signal at all levels all the time.

This ratio means whats:

In a day of 24 hrs – 2/3 of that day you can be able to clearly detect signals for things that truly determine results for your life. Every 60 second, 60 minutes and over 15 hrs of the day you are awake.

This may sound a big tall and taking life overly serious.

The moment your system anchor on such epitome, you can never turn back again to the noise.

High signals attention gives birth to high work ethics where distractions never get a chance.

It will also help you remain energetic to grind every day and be very displined towards transitioning to the top of business.

3-5 most important things done in a day

In a world full of noise you don’t have to doubt that majority of the chances you meet on daily basis relates to items that don’t matter at all.

For others in micro and small businesses they are the gate keepers of all social events in their societies-losing all their time making every one happy when their businesses are dying.

Ability to churn the unnecessariness and identify the important ones is culmination of intense practice

Practice starts with building a framework like having a weekly planner

Don’t force it but just tart with putting down the activities you will do following week

Repeat the same and as you make for the following week, apply the lessons you have learnt with past week.

Let the ultimate goal be working on less and less of activities but driving most important results – from there any activity that come in as an obstruction should be discarded.

Initially, there will be a lot of resistance from your body system.

Soon the system start enjoying the peace that comes with reflectiveness; it will not let it go again.

There you are, able to churn distraction noise and delivering most important activities.

That will indeed be priceless investment yielding continuous and growing return on investment through visible growth of your micro and small business.
